Resources

You need the right tools to help your child care center be the best it can be.

I have affiliate relationships with some of the below – meaning that I get paid in the happy event you decide to work with them – and others are simply resources you should know about.

But all, without exception, are resources I know, trust, and feel 100% comfortable recommending without hesitation. Feel free to let me know if I can answer any questions for you:

Time Management

Time Mastery for Child Care Professionals
This is an online, self-paced course I created specifically for child care professionals. You’ll learn the same techniques I developed for myself, to successfully manage my life and my business. I guarantee you an extra hour a day or your money back!

Enrollment Building

Enrollment Boot Camp
This is the only system in the child care field proven to help you attract and retain more families and make more revenue in your business – quickly, easily, and authentically. If you don’t know where to start on getting your program fully enrolled, start here. The Enrollment Boot Camp is presented by my terrific affiliate partner, Kris Murray.

Business Administration

Contactually
Think of Contactually as a simple yet highly effective electronic nag/personal assistant. It prompts you to follow up with people. It also reminds you when an important date is approaching that you don’t want to forget. Great for getting things out of your head while still making sure they don’t fall through the cracks. (I don’t know about you, but I personally have a lot of cracks.)

Daycare Waitlist
Lucky enough to have a waitlist at your center? It can be a mixed blessing, given the administrative hassles and headaches that can accompany managing the waitlist. Daycare Waitlist makes it simple to keep track of all the moving pieces.

Tuition Express
Here’s a little secret: The easier you make it for parents to pay you, the quicker and easier you will get paid! Tuition Express makes it simple for you to accept and process recurring payments from parents’ bank accounts and credit cards.

Communications & Community-Building

myKidzDay
MyKidzDay is a child care- and preschool-focused daily report app that helps centers boost engagement (and enrollments!) and save money. It also conveniently lets you import data from Procare and other child care center management systems. Click the link above to sign up for a free trial.

MemberHub
A strong community of involved parents means a better child care center – and a better experience for the kids there. MemberHub is a one-stop, complete online solution that simplifies and facilitates communications at all levels, and it’s both reasonably priced and super-easy to use.

Kinderloop
Kinderloop lets you quickly and easily post updates on the children in your care – saves time for your staff and provides valuable, craved-for connection throughout the day for parents (as well as far-flung friends and relatives who want to stay up to date on their little ones).

DailyChildcareReport
Parents love getting daily sheets, but they can be a huge time-suck for teachers. DailyChildcareReport has gotten it down to a science with speedy (and customizable) online data entry for naps, snacks, meals, and more; reports automatically get sent to parents via email or text.

MyChild
MyChild provides reports for parents in child care or Head Start programs  – including online portfolios, daily sheets, email reports, assessments, and photos. The service helps you engage parents while saving time and reducing costs, and also provides attendance, count, and ratios reports. Win-win!

Online Backups & Storage

Dropbox
User-friendly cloud storage (and file sharing) for documents, photos, videos, and more. And the price is right: Plans start at free.

Mozy
You know you should back up your computer files. Really, you know you should. And you keep meaning to, but… Let Mozy do it for you. Set it up once and the backups run automatically. Because you never know.

VaultPress
If you have a WordPress website (as I do), you need VaultPress. Automatic, real-time updates of your site mean you can quickly turn back the clock if anything goes wrong – as things in real life are wont to do. The “safekeepers” who provide technical assistance when you need it are incredibly nice, responsive, and helpful.

Social Media

Social Media Training for Child Care Professionals
Learn how to use social media to grow your enrollments and boost family retention, with a minimum of time and hassle. This program, designed and presented by my affiliate partner Kris Murray, walks you through the process step by step (even if you’re not a techie!).

Buffer
Buffer allows you to consolidate all of your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) in one place and easily schedule updates to go out, either right away or at a pre-set time in the future.

Websites

Websites for Daycares
The name says it all – when you’re putting together your center’s website, you want someone with child-care-specific experience. The folks at Websites for Daycares offer a variety of solutions with lots of customization options, so you’ll be up and running in no time.

CareLuLu
Lets you instantly create a 100% free online profile of your center – increase your center’s web presence in minutes, quickly and easily (whether you’ve already got an official website up or not).

Miscellaneous

Fill Your Summer Camp
If you don’t yet have a special summer camp program, now’s the time to launch one! This special training, presented by my affiliate partner Kris Murray, teaches you how to maximize your summer enrollments and set yourself apart all year long.

ZONO Sanitech
Keeping your center clean and germ-free is no fun (admit it: You’ve thought once or twice about buying stock in Clorox, haven’t you?). ZONO Sanitech uses clean, eco-friendly ozone technology to effectively sanitize almost everything in your center. Teachers will be sold on how simple it is, and parents will be sold on your commitment to a healthy environment for their kids.

Early Childhod Investigations Webinars
A fabulous (and free!) ongoing series of webinars, produced by Fran Simon at Engagement Strategies, LLC and featuring a wide range of speakers in the early childhood field. Conference-quality learning without leaving your home, classroom, or office.

Child Care Soup
Because even the most creative teachers need new ideas from time to time. Child Care Soup specializes in fun art projects and activities for preschoolers – one low monthly subscription price gives you unlimited access to over 500 projects, including downloadable/printable files and patterns.
